About Our Contributors
We have quite a lineup of talent in place at Why Fly.
You’ll find creative contributions from the Why Fly Co-Founders, and you’ll also read pieces by aviation writers such as Russell Munson, Bette Bach-Fineman, and her sons Robert and Jonathan. To that mix we’ve added stories by some new voices: screenwriter Steve Roberts (an avid pilot, Stinson-owner, and creator of the Max Headroom phenomenon), and a discovery we’re particularly proud of, David Cechanowicz.
On the visual side of things, you’ll find an extraordinary photo by Russell Munson, a series of superb pictures by Roy McMillion, and a large gallery of exquisite images by Michelle Goodeve. Michelle and Glenn have also contributed several Hi-Def videos from their own production company Fearless Widget Productions.
You’ll also be able to watch a lovely nine-minute documentary on “The Tiger Boys & Girl” by Tom Vetter and Joseph Giovenco’s TVRE Productions in Buffalo. We think this video perfectly captures the spirit of Why Fly.
Finally, aviation legend Richard Bach has graciously granted us permission to re-publish his classic flying tale, “Aviation or Flying? Take Your Pick.” This essay got many of us started as pilots in the first place. If you haven’t read it, you’re in for a treat! In the 1960s, Richard picked up the aviation writing torch from the likes of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry and Charles Lindbergh, and his essays, articles, and books paved the way for a whole new generation of aviation writers. “Aviation or Flying? Take Your Pick” provides two seemingly disparate answers to our favorite question, then rises to a philosophical crescendo and transcends them both. We think it perfectly captures our vision in starting Why Fly, and we’re honored to be able to present it to you.
And that’s just for starters. We’re adding new content regularly.
